Leisure Outlet’s Goal Zero Booklet

Our products at Leisure Outlet had opportunities to appeal to other sectors. We were introduced by our supplier Burton McCall to a range of Goal Zero portable power stations. Chain a portable lithium power station to a solar panel and one can efficiently run appliances off the grid. We saw our customer weren’t just using them for camping, but for filmmaking, mobile catering, used by universities to DIY and construction applications. As a trial and push for sales we had a stand at the UK Construction Show in 2021 to showcase the range, the features and benefits of an off-grid power supply.

The brochures that were originally provided featured our supplier details. I didn’t have long, only a week until the show, but I suggested we require printed brochures with our name – ‘Leisure Outlet’ and contact details.

I spoke to Visual Print & Design in Lincoln and they could support the print of the brochures in time, if I supply the artwork. I used Visual Print & Design a lot during my time at Leisure Outlet as the Managing Director (Graham Hunstone) was my neighbour – they were always brilliant and helpful!

Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator though self-teaching and projects at work, I had to quickly get to grips with InDesign to produce a brochure in-time for the show. Tools from previous Adobe software made the process of learning InDesign in a short space of time a breeze – with a couple of YouTube tutorials along the way.

I kept the brochure simple with myself both templating and adding the content. As a result the final piece was an 8-page spread.

Happy to report the brochure was printed by Visual Print Lincoln and in time for the UK Construction Show.
