In November ’23, shortly after being made redundant I hosted an Instagram story advertising that I am available to take on work as a freelancer. Jack Hubbleday, who I know from MINI events, saw my story and put my name forward to his directors at Prime ICT, asking if Adam could take on web projects. A few emails and discussions later they told me about a client who wanted to establish their online presence. A small family run business looking for an easy to use and update website to advertise the stockholding of both new and used trailers. I accepted the project and asked further questions about branding and any competitor websites they liked the look and functionality of as well as conducting research of my own.
I had full creative control over project. Making the website simple and easy to update was always at the forefront of mind, as this was the company’s first website and their first introduction to the web as a company.
I didn’t have a lot of content to go by as the company were starting collect and create content, so I was making design decisions based on the competitor websites and my knowledge of e-commerce and web design/layout. During creation of this website, through WordPress I templated the following pages, with placeholder content:
- Home Page
- About Us
- New Trailers > New Trailer Categories > New Trailer Product Detail Page
- Used Trailers > Used Trailer Product Detail Page
- Service & Repairs
- Contact Us
Custom forms were also created. I added a few lines of jQuery to a custom form which appears on trailer detail pages, this copied the trailer name and automatically pasted the name of used trailer within the input field title ‘Product of Interest’. For a customer to enquire about a specific trailer, this saved them for having to manually copy and paste the name of the trailer they are interested in, making the website friendly to use.
I kept Prime ICT up-to-date with the progress of the website and demonstrated how the content was easily replaceable and this process led to a few tweaks to further improve the usability of the website.

After a week of templating, I handed the site over to Prime ICT so they can present the website back to the client. As I had templated multiple pages and gave options, Prime ICT felt confident that the site was user-friendly, thus both the client and Prime ICT could easily apply content and update where and when required.
Prime ICT is a new company with a small team that specialise in IT Systems, Networks and Telephony. They are now looking to advertise web hosting to take on more clients who require an online presence, with the confidence of my expertise to support and deliver projects.

“Prime ICT contacted Adam on behalf of one of our clients who wanted to establish a web presence. We presented Adam with the brief we had from our client including some websites that he liked the design of and some basic ideas for different pages he would like on his site and left Adam with full creative control over the site.

With updates and request for input throughout, we felt very involved in the process and felt like anything that we said or asked for was done with no major questions or issues.
Within a week or so, Adam had requested a meeting to go through the site and present it to us, the final result was far better than we could ever have imagined it would be or completed ourselves internally.
Adam had templated a lot of the pages so we could easily replicate the look and feel of them for the various product pages on the site and made it user-friendly enough that we could go in and update the information, that we didn’t yet have from our client, when we did get it.
A massive thank you to Adam for his hard work and determination and we wouldn’t hesitate to use him again for any other projects we come up against or recommend him to others in our industry.”
